Here students are attempting to change the pitch of a sound by experimenting with a variety of elastics and elastic placement.
Today our grade 5 buddy bloggers came and helped us learn about how to comment on blogs. It was so much fun....we can't wait to do it again.
Today students wrote predictions about pictures that are part of a story we are reading. Students used their initials to commit to focusing on some of the writing criteria that has been established.
We are learning about sound. So far we watched a video about a guy who made instruments out of craft materials. It was cool. Then we made a poster about what we would like to learn about hearing and sound. Will would like to know how fast sound travels in water. Daylen would like to know more about how sound vibrates. Anita would like know know about where sounds come from. James would like to compare the speed of sound to the speed of an airplane. Elizabeth wonders how many sounds you would hear in a day. We have spent so much time learning to learn together. Working with others helps us gain deeper understanding and provides us with so many competencies that are required in the real world. Here students were using IPODs to listen to themselves read in order to gain fluency and reading expression. What do you think the best part of working with others is?
